MPA NSW recently delivered a hugely successful golf day and regional forum dinner at the stunning Bonville Golf Resort in Coffs Harbour. The event brought together local plumbing businesses, apprentices, suppliers, and industry leaders for a full day of networking, competition, and forward-focused discussion on the future of the trade across regional NSW.

The day kicked off with the MPANSW golf day, played under perfect weather on one of Australia’s most picturesque and challenging courses. This year also featured an exciting highlight – a hole-in-one opportunity to win a new Mitsubishi Triton. The offer generated plenty of friendly rivalry and added extra excitement to the competition. While no one claimed the Triton this year, the chance to drive away in anew Ute certainly lifted the energy and enthusiasm on the course.
Thank you to Geoff King Motors in Coffs Harbour for displaying the Triton.
Congratulations to the winning team – Dream Plumbing and Austworld, with Tom Hillard, Benjamin Soulter, Dylan Dyball and Chris Barrett –who took out top honours for the day. Special recognition also goes to the winners of the specialty categories. These awards showcase the talent, technique and good humour that give our regional events such a strong community feel.

Following the golf, Members, Corporate Sponsors, and guests came together for a Regional Forum Dinner. The forum encouraged open and constructive discussion about the challenges and opportunities shaping the plumbing industry across the North Coast and MID North Coast. MPA NSW Bonville Golf Day and regional forum dinner strong day for industry, community, and collaboration.
Key issues raised included:
- Business training
- Apprentice shortages
- Apprentice supervision
- Finding tradies in regional areas
These insights will directly inform MPA NSW’s ongoing advocacy with the NSW Government, Building Commission NSW another agency. Feedback from members remains critical as the sector navigates workforce shortages, licensing reform and the rapid changes occurring across the construction and plumbing landscape.
The evening also celebrated the strength, resilience, and camaraderie of the local plumbing community. Attendees emphasised the importance of these regional gatherings– not only for professional development, but also for fostering relationships, collaboration and staying informed about key policy and regulatory updates.
MPA NSW extends its thanks to all participants, as well as our valued industry partners whose support makes events like this possible. A special thank you to our event sponsors for making the day possible, Mitsubishi, Austworld and MGA Insurance.
We look forward to returning to Bonville and continuing to work closely with members to strengthen, support and elevate the plumbing profession across NSW.
