2024 Gold Medal
The Gold Medal acknowledges an exceptionally high achieving apprentice plumber.
What is the Gold Medal?
The Gold Medal was first awarded by the Association in 1906 and many well-known and highly respected tradespeople have been the recipients during this long history. It carries with it a great deal of distinction and is competed for on a state-wide basis. The Gold Medal is awarded to an Apprentice Plumber who has completed their apprenticeship in the past twelve months (since 31 July 2023) and can demonstrate that they are an exceptionally high achiever.
How is the Gold Medal judged?
Nominees will be judged by a panel of industry experts. Finalists will be contacted to arrange a formal online interview.
Eligibility Criteria
- Apprentices must have completed their apprenticeship in the past 12 months (since 31 July 2023).
- Apprentices must have been employed by a plumbing contractor or Group Training Organisation.
- Apprentices must have been registered as an apprentice in New South Wales at the time of completion.
Judging Criteria
Applicants will be judged on:
- workmanship
- teamwork
- work ethic
- further training
- personal contribution to the industry
Submission Requirements
- Application Form
- Photo
- Certificate of Proficiency
- Employer Reference
- Video summary of why you should be awarded the Gold Medal, addressing EACH of the following (3 – 5 minutes)
The video submission must address each of the judging criteria.
How to apply
Nominations may be made by either, the apprentice or employer.
